Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Morgannwg pupil is Welsh Tennis Champion – twice
YSGOL Gymraeg Bro Morgannwg pupil, Neirin Gilani, has become a Welsh Under 18s tennis champion.
Neirin won the singles and coubles tournament to win both national titles. Neirin recently competed in the Welsh championship in Wrexham. The year 10 pupil has previously won the under 8s, under 10s and under 14s titles. This year was quite an achievement as he won both titles – singles and doubles.
Head teacher, Rhys Angell-Jones said: “We’re extremely proud of Neirin and this amazing achievement. Of course, he has always been committed to all the various extra-curricular activities that we offer here at the school, as well as his academic work. But tennis has always been his passion and to win both titles at the event, at such a young age, is a huge accolade to him. We look forward to seeing him develop further in the future.”
