Additional PCSOs welcomed to South Wales Police
Nine new Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) received a warm welcome to South Wales Police (SWP) from senior police officer Wendy Gunney on Friday 18th March.
The officers will join police stations throughout the areas of Cardiff and The Vale, including the Neighbourhood Policing Teams (NPTs) at Barry and Penarth.
Described by SWP as being at the heart of the community, PCSOs perform a variety of policing duties from reassurance patrols and crime prevention to youth engagement and supporting community initiatives.
A spokesperson for SWP said: “NPT officers often work with partner agencies and community members to make the areas they police better for all.”
