CANCELLED: Open day at Barry bus history group

CANCELLED: open day at Barry bus history group:

The Barry heritage bus group open day scheduled for tomorrow (11th September) has been cancelled, say organisers.

The free open day was due to take place at the bus depot on Broad Street, Barry, with a range of free bus trips for all the family. The event was reported on within this week’s edition of the Glamorgan Star prior to the death of The Queen.

Mike Taylor, the group’s chairman said: “The CTPG* are postponing this Sundays running day as a mark of respect on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

“Our aim is to reschedule, possibly on the same weekend as the Sloper Road open day, further details will be published at a later date.”

As this year is marking 120 years of Cardiff municipal transport, the *Cardiff Transport Preservation Group will be concentrating on running former Cardiff buses from the 1960s through the decades in and around Barry.
