Bet on your ‘virtual’ horse at charity evening:
THE Mayor of Barry, Cllr Helen Payne, is holding a charity ‘virtual horse racing’ evening on Thursday, 16 February, from 7pm, at the Cherry Orchard, Barry, in partnership with Barry Round Table.
All proceeds will go to Cllr Payne’s chosen charities, Llamau, Vale People First and YoungMinds.
How the evening works:
There are eight races in total – local businesses and organisations are being asked to sponsor a race – please get in touch if you or your organisation would like to do so.
• The horses all need owners and names and there are eight horses in each race.
• Purchase and name a horse. The cost is £5.
If a horse wins, the owner will win a prize. The owner does not need to attend; the council will contact winners the following day.
There will be a raffle during the evening and it is possible to bet on races. This will be organised by Barry Round Table.
