Cardiff Airport kick off new season

THE new season for Cardiff Airport FC began on a Friday night under the lights at Jenner Park with a comfortable 6-0 victory against CPD Felinfach in the FAW Welsh Cup.
The visitors from Ceredigion gifted Airport two early own goals before a brace from new striker Oliver Amos gave Cardiff Airport an unassailable 4-0 half time lead. Further goals in the second half from Ryan Escott and new signing Kieran Neil put Airport in the hat for the next round.
A long trip to Onllwyn in the Neath valley followed on the following Tuesday as Airport began their league campaign with a visit to AFC Llwydcoed. On a hard, dry pitch chances were at a premium with the home side’s keeper Sam Jones producing two fine saves to foil Oliver Amos and Aiden Lewis in the first half.
In the second half, the best chance fell to Llwydcoed, whose substitute Cian Cable gratefully accepted with the hosts then holding on to claim the points.
Airport now turn their attention to the FAW Amateur Cup with a visit to Treharris. JD
