A hit-and-run driver who mounted a pavement before hitting a five-year-old girl has been jailed.
The collision happened at around 5.50pm on Sunday, 24 March, 2024, during the school Easter holidays.

CCTV captured the moment Kurtis Dwyer (35) hit Casey Wilson on Sloper Road in Cardiff but she escaped serious injury. Images showed him speeding in a grey BMW car before mounting the pavement, collide with the little girl, and driving off.
Driving without a licence, insurance or permission to drive the vehicle, Dwyer abandoned the car a few streets away.
Dwyer, from Grangetown, was arrested a month after the collision and the car was recovered by police for forensic examination.
He pleaded guilty to dangerous driving on Monday, 3rd March at Cardiff Crown Court and was jailed for 14 months.
A South Wales Police spokesperson said: “Amazingly the little girl received only minor injuries, but the incident was understandably very frightening for her and her family.
“While we welcome the outcome at court, we acknowledge that the little girl and her family continue to suffer severe emotional impact as a result of Dwyer’s reckless and dangerous actions.”
