Memorial park to host open day
AFTER a difficult past year, Cardiff and Glamorgan Memorial Park and Crematorium will host an Open Day at the memorial grounds, Port Road East in Barry on Sunday 11th July.
Like so many events to be held last year, the day was unfortunately postponed due to the pandemic. However, this year it will be mostly an outdoor event, providing visitors with the opportunity to see how well the industry has advanced.
When looking around around the facilities, classic funeral vehicles will also be displayed.
Event organiser stated, “As we all look forward to what we hope are safer, sunnier days we have planned our open day this year from 10.00am to 2.00pm.
“Our families and local community have been amazingly supportive during these very troubled times and incredibly understanding and compliant with the government restrictions that have been in place, this is our chance to say thank you personally.
“As well as the staff here at Memoria, representatives will be present from MacMillan cancer research who are the benefactors of our charitable project this past year and we will be presenting a cheque to regional representatives. There will also be other local charities here with support for them being very welcome. There will also be a photographer attending offering free professional or family portraits.
“There is of course a chance to meet the team behind the scenes and look round our facilities, we will be providing some food and refreshments during the day and the grounds will be open to everyone. It also presents that so long overdue opportunity to meet and greet local people in the sunshine and come together.”
