MP charged over car crash
A Conservative MP has been charged with failing to stop after a car crash in Llanblethian, near Cowbridge in November last year.
MP for Bridgend, Jamie Wallis has also been charged with failure to report a traffic collision, driving without due care and attention, and leaving a vehicle in a dangerous location.
Unseating Labour in the election of 2019, Mr Wallis was elected in Bridgend at the 2019 general election.
A spokesperson for South Wales Police said: “The force had been been investigating a road traffic collision which happened in Llanblethian, Cowbridge, in the early hours of Sunday 28th November, 2021.
“Jamie Wallis, 37, from Cowbridge has been charged with failing to stop following a road traffic collision, failure to report a road traffic collision, driving without due care and attention and leaving a vehicle in a dangerous position.”
Mr Wallis will appear at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 10th May.
