Plans for a major upgrade to one of Barry’s train stations and a proposal to turn a piece of agricultural land into a dog adventure land have been approved.
Here is a round up of the stand out planning applications made to and approved by the Vale of Glamorgan Council recently:
Barry:
Plans to develop 25 new affordable living flats on Holton Road have been given the go ahead.
The application for the new flats, which are planned for the upper floors of 81-85 Holton Road, was approved on the third time that it came to the Vale Council’s planning committee.
It is hoped that the flats will help remedy the high demand for affordable living in the area.
A major upgrade to one of Barry’s train stations has also been approved.
Plans for a new transport interchange at Barry Docks station will include bus stands, taxi stands, a public drop-off area, cycle parking and electric cycle hire provision.
A central landscaped area will also be included in the development. The council said this could be used for future developments like a cycle hub and café.
However, these would be subject to a separate planning application.
Welsh St Donats:
An application has been put to the Vale Council to turn agricultural land into a dog exercise field.
‘Dog Adventure Land’, has been proposed for land south of Ty Mynydd Farm in Welsh St Donats.
If approved, the dog exercise field will include obstacles and units like a dog tunnel, dog pools, wooden platforms, and picnic tables.
