Essential maintenance taking place on the Vale of Glamorgan train line
NETWORK RAIL is giving train users between Barry and Bridgend advance warning of drainage and track maintenance that is due to take place between 10pm on Sunday 13th July and 5.10am Saturday 19th July.

Over the course of the week, teams will replace and upgrade drainage systems beneath the tracks, as well as rail testing and maintenance work. These activities are being delivered through a combination of day and night shifts to minimise disruption to rail services.
Train services between Rhoose, Cardiff International Airport, and Bridgend will be suspended for the duration of the works, with replacement buses running throughout to maintain connectivity.
Between Port Talbot Parkway and Llanelli, some services will be diverted, with buses replacing affected early and late trains from 12.25am on Friday 19th July to 12.25am on Sunday 20th July.
A spokesperson for Network Rail said: “Passengers are advised to plan ahead and allow extra time for journeys. Check the latest travel information at www.journeycheck.com/tfwrail
“If you live near the railway and would like to receive notifications about our work by email, visit: www.networkrail.co.uk/sign-up
“We thank everyone for their patience while we carry out this vital work.”
