BARRY RFC’s second team, the Barrians, kicked off their season in fine style, beating Old Penarthians 71-7 in a friendly at a windswept and muddy Reservoir Field.
Following calls from within the club to get Barrians up and running again, an appeal from first team manager Mike Prosser attracted more than enough support for Saturday’s fixture to go ahead.
Barrians included some first team squad players taking the opportunity for a runout on their way back from injury.
