FINALLY, after weeks of weather-enforced postponements, Vale action returned, and returned with a bang. It was league cup semi-final day in the Supporters Cup and the Dockers Cup.
League leaders Barry Athletic booked their spot at Jenner Park with a 4-1 win over league rivals St Athan, Ollie Tipples scoring twice in a clinical display.
Penarth Town will be their opponents in the final after they edged out FC Barry 3-2, David Shallis scoring and setting up another for Town.
Dockers Cup holders Tynewydd reached the final again with 3-1 triumph over Cadoxton Imps. Ross, Palmer and Donnelly scored the all-important goals.
Michael Hall fired Cardiff Airport Vets to Jenner Park to play Tynewydd as they came out 1-0 winners over Barry Athletic Reserves.
In league action, Vale Madrid defeated Cwm Talag 3-1, Sam Robinson’s double getting Madrid back to winning ways and sending them above Talwg into second place in the Championship A.
In the Championship B, Peterston Super Ely stay top after a 3-1 win over third placed Rhoose Social, Henry Adams scoring twice.
Kirke and Bowsher fired Island Marine Reserves into an early two goal lead against AFC Rhoose Development, but a very late and dramatic double from Darren Townsend saw Rhoose pull level and rescue a point in a 2-2 draw.
And finally, St Athan Thirds picked up their first point of the season in a thrilling 3-3 draw with Porthkerry Panthers. St Athan Thirds twice came back from behind and took the lead only for a late Parsons equaliser to deny them their first win in over a year.
