Sport – Young rugby player is nominated for award
A YOUNG rugby player who started at Barry RFC has been nominated for a community award.
Ruben Cummings now plays for Hartpury College and Gloucester RFC. He won his first Wales under-18 cap against Scotland in March and has since appeared for the country in the Six Nations tournament in Italy. He is on the ‘Young Person of the Year’ shortlist for the 2024 Bro Radio Community Awards. The winner will be announced at a ceremony at Penarth Pier Pavilion on Friday, 7th June.
At Hartpury, where he is working on a Sport and Science Diploma, Ruben is a member of the successful under-18s team. His long-term aim is to play rugby professionally,
The awards aim to recognise the best in community, business, sport and more across the Vale. The shortlist has been whittled down by a team of judges from entries made by local people.
