PENMARK golfer still going strong at 90!
Penmark resident Aubrey Bowen recently celebrated his 90th birthday by hosting a party at The Six Bells restaurant.
The Six Bells is within walking distance of Aubrey’s home – he has lived there all his life. After retiring in 1996 from a very successful farming partnership, Aubrey took up golf and is the oldest playing member at his club, Cottrell Park. His achievement was recognised by the management at Cottrell, who offered Aubrey free membership for 12 months.
He continues to play at least twice a week with his senior friends at Cottrell and still plays to a high standard, including a return of a net 78 off the white tees in the club’s latest medal competition.
