‘Hello, good evening and welcome’ – to Albert’s talk show
AS they say in the TV streaming business series three of the Albert Clohawk Talk Show has just ‘dropped’ on YouTube.
It is the work of a seven-year-old primary school pupil from Rhoose, Albert Closier-Hawkins from Rhoose, who has combined his surname to create his talk show alter ego.
In seasons one and two, he interviewed celebrities ranging from Linda Lusardi and Colin Jackson to Lee Mead and Torvill and Dean.
Episode one of season 3 has a very topical guest, the actor Timothy Spall – who recently starred in ‘The Sixth Commandment’ on BBC One. Albert is releasing the episodes weekly during the summer.
A future episode will feature Albert talking to Michel Roux (and cooking a recipe with Michel’s advice). Also lined up is actor Martin Clunes, Anthony Costa from Blue and Welsh TV presenter Sian Lloyd.
Albert attends Rhws Primary school and his father, Ian, is a teaching assistant. Ian said: “His friends think he is amazing for hosting his chat show and often ask if he has any merch!
“Albert works so hard on every interview. We research the celebrity and then come up with the questions to ask. There is always a mixture of professional questions about their career and life and then there are always the quick-fire questions which can be sillier.
“Each interview is fun and quite different from each other. Albert has had many opportunities through his chat show. Who else gets to sing number one hits with the popstars or talk acting with acting legends?”
Ian helps him with his filming techniques, the script writing, the outfits he wears right through to the editing of each interview.
Albert said: “I want to be a chat show host when I am older and interview lots of famous people.
“I really want to interview Taylor Swift as I love her music, she is also very pretty. With her coming to Cardiff next year on her tour, you never know…
“I need my people (aka my daddy) to talk to her people.”
