Poppy seller Stan recognised for 30 years’ service
A PROLIFIC poppy seller has been presented with a medal following his volunteering efforts for the Royal British Legion.
Stan Smith, 95, of Barry, was recognised at a recent British Legion and Veterans monthly lunch meeting in the Cherry Orchard, in Barry.
He has collected for the Poppy Appeal for 30 years.
It was the first time he had been outside his home for two years due to Covid-19 lockdown and restrictions. Stan was formerly a president and chairman of the local branch.
The Royal British Legion provides financial and emotional support to members and veterans of the British armed forces, their families, and dependants.

Absolutely legend 👏👏
