Pencoed RFC plans to bring back a women’s team
PENCOED RFC is aiming to bring women’s rugby back to the club and is putting on social touch rugby sessions to gauge interest.
A club spokesperson said: “Whether you’re a mum, sister, wife, girlfriend, friend, or simply someone from our local community who’s always fancied giving rugby a try, this is the perfect opportunity. No experience is needed—just come along, have some fun, meet new people, and enjoy being part of a great club.
“Sessions are on Fridays, 6.30pm at Pencoed RFC. It’s a relaxed, friendly environment with plenty of laughs, making it the perfect way to start your weekend. Sessions will be led by first team coach Sean Donovan and club physio Michelle Halse.
“We saw 11 ladies turn up for the first session, so let’s build on that. Age 18-plus, no experience, all fitness levels. The session was a gentle warm-up, finishing with touch rugby.”
