ROUNDERS enthusiasts have organised the Bridgend Mixed Outdoor Rounders league, with eight teams in League One.
From Pencoed, team ‘Do Us a Favour’ knew they had a tough start playing against last season’s winners, ‘Bridgend Barbarians’ who carried on as they did last season. ‘Do us’ kept going with strong batting performances from Matthew John and Emma Carney. There were some fine catches in the field from Claire Donovan, Sarah Perry and Emma Carney. A solid bowling performance from Dave Parkhouse.
‘Do Us’ were hit with injury in the third innings and had to dig in and work harder with a man down against a very experience team. The final score was Do Us a Favour 8 – Bridgend Barbarians 23.
For ‘Do Us’ Sarah Perry was player of the match. The team wish a speedy recovery to Paula Clements (AKA Moonboot).

Do us a Favour Rounders Team are currently looking for kit sponsors, the business in return would get their logo on the jersey as well as mentions and features on the team page. Anyone interested should get in touch. Training is at Pencoed RFC on Thursdays at 7.30pm.
For game two of the season, the team travelled to play ‘Base of Spades’ on 4 August at Archbishop McGrath School and gave a cracking performance, as the team starts to gel. The umpire gave ‘Do Us’ a fair lay point.
Result: Base of Spades 18.5, Do Us a Favour 18.5.
After the game, the team played a friendly against ‘Thrown Together’ just for fun and practice.
Result: Thrown Together 22.5, Do Us a Favour 23.
Emma Carney was player of the match in both games.
