BARRY DOCK lifeboat station recently welcomed staff from the South Wales Ambulance’s control room.
The RNLI operates alongside many key emergency services in a multiagency approach to saving lives at sea, including the ambulance, coastguard and fire services.
A spokesperson for Barry Dock RNLI said: “This visit strengthens our working relationship with the ambulance service, ensuring that when we respond to incidents, we can coordinate effectively.
“Liaising with ambulance crews on shouts and ensuring a seamless handover of casualties is vital to what we do.”
Rob Brunnock, service manager (EMS Coordination) at the Welsh Ambulance Service said: “Colleagues from our control centre thoroughly enjoyed their time at the lifeboat station and now have a much better understanding of the resources and assistance that the RNLI can provide to the Welsh Ambulance Service during emergencies.”
