Coastal pirates raise cash for local charity
Coastal pirates raise cash for local charity:
The community support team and representatives from ValePlus recently took to the coastal path dressed at pirates for a 33Km charity walk.
The team walked along the coastal path from Ogmore by Sea to the Cwm Ciddy in Barry, aiming to raise £1,000 for Christmas presents for students at ValePlus. The team set off at 9am and finished (with well-deserved refreshments) at the Cwm Ciddy at 5.30pm.
The CEO of ValePlus, Kim McKay, said: “What an incredible walk with some amazing views of our coastline. Thank you to everyone who stopped and asked us what we were doing.
“We were blown away by the immense support from everyone. We will now be able to purchase gifts which are beneficial and meaningful for our students.”
“Although the appeal has ended, you can still donate via our Local Giving page.”
The appeal raised a whooping £1,944.
