THE Penarth Marie Curie Hospice were visited recently by Jennifer Lenczner, chairman of the Elliot Dallen Trust, who presented a cheque for £9,100.
That sum is the average cost of running the Cardiff and Vale Hospice in Penarth for one day. The trust chose the recent date of 7th September – a date that means a lot to Elliot’s family.
The Elliot Dallen Trust raises and donates money to causes that were important to Elliot. Elliot was a much-loved son, brother, partner and friend and grew up in Cardiff. He went to Llanishen High School before going on to gain a first class degree in Economics at Exeter University and afterwards became a chartered accountant in London where he worked in finance.
Tragically, when Elliot was 29 years old he was diagnosed with a very rare cancer, adrenocortical carcinoma and he passed away on 7th September 2020, aged just 31.
Marie Curie supports people with any illness they are likely to die from including Alzheimer’s (and other forms of dementia), heart, liver, kidney and lung disease, motor neurone disease, Parkinson’s, and advanced cancer. The charity provides expert care and support in people’s homes, in its hospices and over the phone via its free Information Support Line.
