Cosmeston protest shows depth of anger at Aqua Park plan

HUNDREDS of Vale of Glamorgan residents headed for Cosmeston Country Park this week to protest about plans for an Aqua Park in part of the lake.

A petition against the plan has now passed 5,600 and the news that the park is set to open early in July seems to have prompted extra residents to attend the protest.

Earlier this week, equipment for the park was spotted starting to arrive in preparation for the July opening day of the Aqua Park.

Protestors have pointed to the fact that swimming has always been banned for safety reasons at Cosmeston Lake. However, the Vale Council has insisted that anyone using the aqua park will have to wear a buoyancy aid and will only be permitted to use the aqua park area, where the adventure equipment will be installed.
