A BRIDGEND town centre road has remained closed after a sinkhole opened up close to the town’s railway station over the weekend.

Court Road, Bridgend, remained closed on Monday, 2nd November, while engineers carried out a full inspection of the damage to assess what may have caused the collapse.
It comes after a reported incident on Saturday, 31st October, with pictures showing that a number of paving slabs had completely collapsed to create the sinkhole.
A spokesman for the local council said that following the inspection, an action plan would be developed for repairing the damage and ensuring that the street is safe to reopen.
There is still pedestrian access to the railway station, with vehicle access via Station Hill.
