A DECISION has been made to cancel the annual Barry Island Firework Fiesta due to the ongoing uncertainty of covid-19.
The decision to cancel the November event, for the second consecutive year, follows discussions between the partners that bring the event to the Vale – Barry Rotary Club, Barry Round Table, Barry Town Council and the Vale of Glamorgan Council.
The partners have announced that work has begun to explore the concept of a “Festival of Light” which will see certain parks and monuments throughout Barry lit up throughout November.
It is hoped the Festival of Light will be a family friendly event which can be explored at your own pace and will be an exciting, safe, and alternative way for Barry to celebrate Bonfire Night this year.
