Firework Fiesta goes off with a bang

Firework Fiesta goes off with a bang:

The Annual Charity Firework Fiesta returned to Barry Island last weekend after being put on hold in recent years due to the pandemic.

With many similar events around the country being fizzled out this year due to strap cashed council’s having to cancel displays due to the cost-of-living crisis, locals and visitors were treated to a spectacular evening of rockets, spirals, sparks and glittering showers of dazzling light.

The free event was in aid of Age Connect with volunteers carrying donation buckets for the charity that helps and supports local older people and their families through some of the most difficult times in their lives. More can be found on the charity and to donate here.

Having previously being arranged by Barry Round Table and Rotary Club, this year’s event was organised by Chem Corp UK. Taking on the event late in the year, the display was arranged earlier than anticipated due to the original fireworks company having another prearranged event.
