Man charged on suspicion of smashing mosque window
Incident is believed to be racially aggravated
A man has been charged with racially aggravated criminal damage to a mosque in Grangetown, Cardiff.
Michael James Morgan, 54, from Grangetown, has also been charged with racially aggravated public order.
He has been remanded in custody to appear at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court today (10th June).
A window at the Rabanniah Islamic Centre was smashed at around 10.15pm on Monday.
A spokeman for South Wales Police (SWP) said: “Cardiff is a modern, multi-cultural city where people of different religions, faiths and cultures live side by side and have done for many, many years.
“We always encourage victims of hate crime to contact us as we have specialist officers who can offer support and assistance.”
