Huge ‘cannabis factory’ with hundreds of plants discovered in Barry
South Wales Police (SWP) have taken to social media to announce that police in Barry have discovered what is believed to be a cannabis factory containing 800 plants.
Along with images from the undisclosed located, a SWP spokesperson said: “Cannabis factory located in Barry by #BarryNPT.
“Approx 800 plants recovered. 1 male in custody. Serious dent in organised crime.”
Responding to the Twitter post, Anne Usher commented: “DAMN GOOD JOB………..These people DESTROY the USER and THEIR FAMILIES.”
The Glamorgan Star has contacted SWP for further information regarding the incident.
Cannabis, also known as marijuana among other names, is a psychoactive drug from the Cannabis plant.
Cannabis is illegal in the UK for recreational use and is classified as a Class B drug. In 2004, cannabis was made a Class C drug with less severe penalties but it was moved back to Class B in 2009.
