Library garden project gets green light

Library garden project gets green light.

The Friends of Penarth Library (FoPL) have been successful in their application for a grant from the National Lottery Community Fund, helping them create an outdoor space at the library, where events and activities can take place.

Work on levelling and paving the library garden is due to start soon and should take about three days to complete. Then, FoPL will buy plants and bird nesting boxes to make the garden eco friendly and interesting. They will also buy seating so that the space can be used for children’s story time, and various other activities. The members hope the library garden might be included in the Penarth Open Garden Trail this year.

A spokesperson said: “The FoPL would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to all players of the National Lottery, and also to the people of Penarth who made such generous contributions to the library garden project.”
