Father and daughter tackle Patagonian charity trek
Father and daughter tackle Patagonian charity trek:
On 5th November, father and daughter team Gareth and Alys Petty from Cowbridge will embark on a trek across Patagonia – hoping to raise £10,000 for the Marie Curie Hospice at Holme Towers in Penarth.
Gareth and Alys have spent the past two years organising events and rattling buckets in Waitrose car park to raise money for the cause. They are close to achieving their goal and would greatly appreciate any donations. Anyone wishing to make a contribution should visit here.
The past two years have been extremely challenging for organisations such as Marie Curie who provide precious support to individuals and families during end of life care and bereavement.
Veteran fundraiser Gareth, who has participated in marathons, triathlons, and velethons for Cancer charities said: “I’m now at an age where I think my marathon days are behind me and this seemed like a natural progression. In addition, I hope it will encourage Alys to keep up the family tradition of fundraising for these amazing organisations in the community.”
