Penarth Town open up seven-point lead
Vale of Glamorgan Football League round up

After a week off, the Vale of Glamorgan Football League returned with a bang and plenty of goals.
Penarth Town returned to winning ways with a stunning 6-2 victory over Cadoxton Barry. Macauley Winton scored the pick of the bunch with a 40-yard screamer. The result moves Penarth seven points ahead of Holton Road, having played two games more. Cadoxton Barry have now lost four league games in a row but remain in third place.
Holton Road saw that gap open up after they were held 2-2 at Cogan Coronation. Morgan and Jachontow had put Holton Road ahead after going a goal down early, but a late Hughes equaliser saw a share of the points for Cogan.
Cardiff Airport came away from the Ceri Road derby against AFC Rhoose with bragging rights and all three points after a 5-2 victory, Lee Stradling hitting a hat-trick and Airport are now five games unbeaten.
Goals from Cory James and Mathew James saw BV defeat St Athan 2-1, with St Athan finishing the game with nine men after two red cards. That’s three wins from their last four for BV but St Athan are now five games without a league win.
Tynewydd got their first win in eight games with an impressive 5-2 win over Barry Athletic, Rhys Palmer bagging a hat trick as Tynny go ninth.
In Division One, leaders Sully Sports played out a 10-goal thriller against BV reserves, winning 6-4 to remain top the league, with Godwin notching a treble, Ashton, Stephens and Cottle with his 24th of the campaign.
Cwm Talwg remain level on points with Sully as they saw off Island Marine B 3-1, Yeoman with a brace as Cwm Talwg and Sully both pull away from the chasing pack.
Top of that chasing pack are now Holton Road B after they impressively defeated Rhoose Social 4-2, Mitchell Thomas scoring a hat-trick to make it 17 goals for the season.
And finally, St Athan C lifted themselves off the foot of the table for the first time this season and up to eighth place with a comprehensive win over Vale Madrid. Massimo Sammarco got a hat-trick to help St Athan C to their second successive victory and third of the season.
