Pencoed RFC end season with a festival

THE Pencoed mini and junior section had their end of season rugby festival over two days with clubs coming from all along the M4 corridor.

The age groups were split over two days with under-7, under-9, under-11 and under-13 played on Saturday and the Sunday games were from ages under-8, under-10, under-12 and under-14s. The event had lots of fantastic rugby and talent on field, good for the future of Welsh rugby. Six pitches were in use.

There was entertainment for all the family – barbecue, live music, face painting, bouncy castles, stalls for food and drink, ice cream van and even Lamie the sheep.

Pencoed RFC want to say a massive ‘thank you’ to all the teams that attended. The rugby was impressive across all age groups.

The weekend runs on volunteers and it just wouldn’t happen without the support of every section and lots of special people. A big thank you to every volunteer, the club and all the staff and to all our stall holders. Special thank you to NAS Medical for assisting injured players and thanks to the council, South Wales Police and to the comprehensive school for allowing use of their pitches.

And last but not least, our 2026 sponsors. Huge thank you to K & J Motors for their main sponsorship and to T H Developments for our trophy sponsorship and Hair Extensions by Luc for the medal sponsorship. Your support is very much appreciated!
