Bridgend pupils plant wildflowers for King Charles III

TO celebrate the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III, Bridgend Town Council have gifted a packet of wildflower seeds to every child who attends a primary school in the council wards of Morfa, Newcastle and Oldcastle.

The Mayor of Bridgend Town, Cllr Tim Wood, and members of Bridgend Town Council visited Penybont, St Mary’s Catholic, Oldcastle primary schools, and Heronsbridge School to present the seeds to pupils.

Cllr Wood encouraged the children to sow the seeds and said this was very much what King Charles would like and that they would be providing the birds, bees, butterflies and many other garden visitors with much needed food.

Along with the seeds, The Mayor also presented a plaque to the schools to commemorate the occasion and Bridgend Town Council have also donated planters to each school and additional wildflower seeds to support The King’s environmental values.
