Mystery over tyre damage in Penarth
SEVERAL streets in the St Augustine’s ward of Penarth have been targeted by vandals who deliberately spread sharp builder’s nails and screws along large sections of the road.
A number of local residents took to social media to warn of the dangers after nails and screws were found along the entire length of Albert Road.
Other nearby streets targeted include Pembroke Terrace, Coronation Terrace, Lord Street and Clive Terrace. At least three local residents have reported finding the sharp objects in their tyres, as have several parents who parked close to Albert Primary School.
One resident of Pembroke Terrace who sustained a flat tyre said they picked up more than 120 nails and screws on that street alone.
This is not the first time streets in Penarth have been targeted in this way. Last year, residents around Pill Street reported finding nails and screws on the road and in their tyres, and a few months ago, a similar spate occurred in John Street.
