BARRY RFC Youth, with a 100 per cent record in their Cardiff South Two League fixtures – five wins from five – will be aiming to extend their perfect run on Saturday (7th November) when Mountain Ash are the visitors to the Reservoir Field in the first round of the Cardiff Cup (kick-off 2.30pm).
But Barry will not be taking Mountain Ash lightly, despite the visitors finishing bottom of their Cardiff Mid One league, with four straight defeats, when a place in the last 16 of the Cardiff Cup is at stake.
As well as seeking cup success, Barry will also be going for glory in the WRU National Youth Plate competition. Having beaten Newport HSOB 61-12 in the first round, the Bombers are home to Bala in the second round on 21st November, with a place in the last eight for the winners.
Barry’s Athletic team are also in action on Saturday when they travel to Hailey Park for a friendly against Whitchurch (kick-off 1.30pm).
Barry’s First team were without a match last week as Rhydyfelin had to play their postponed Admiral National League Division One Cup tie. The Bombers’ next league fixture is the Vale derby at Cowbridge on 21st November.
