Police appeal following fatal quad bike collision:

South Wales Police (SWP) is appealing for anyone who witnessed a serious collision to come forward.

A spokesperson for SWP, Detective Sergeant Debbie Hobrough said: “South Wales Police was called to reports of a road traffic collision on Cowbridge Road East, between Leckwith Road and Llandaff Road, at around 5pm yesterday (Monday 8th August).

“The collision involved a green and black Yamaha quad bike.

“Despite the best efforts of emergency services, the driver of the quad bike, a 34 year-old man, was declared deceased at the scene.

“His next of kin is aware and is being supported by officers.”

The road was closed for several hours while police officers carried out investigations at the scene. It has since been reopened.

South Wales Police Roads Policing Unit is appealing for anyone with information to come forward and also asking people who were driving in the area at the time to check dashcams for footage.
