LLANTWIT MAJOR bookshop Bardic Books is organising a series of ‘Author Events’ for the autumn.
The series kicks off with two very different but equally impressive events. First, Carly Reagon, bestselling author of ghost story The Toll House, a Waterstone’s Welsh Book of the Month, will be reading from her new book Hear Him Calling at Llantwit Major Town Hall on Saturday, 26th October. Hear Him Calling is set in a secluded tower on the edge of a Welsh mountain village and has been described as “beautifully written and epically scary.”
Then, on Saturday, 2nd November, three celebrated writers living in Wales will be in Llantwit. Their recent books grapple with societal changes in their home countries – Sophie Buchaillard (France), Carole Burns (the United States) and Özgür Uyanik (Türkiye), discuss the role of fiction writers in an era of growing polarisation, leading to the rise of populist parties worldwide. This question is all the more timely as the ever-changing American election looms.
