Cowbridge High Street gets a facelift
Work is due to start in February on a long-planned scheme to revamp the High Street façade of Cowbridge Old Hall.
Cowbridge Charter Trust CIO confirmed that the ‘Old Hall façade regeneration project’ – a joint project with the Vale Council – had now been granted funding from the Welsh Government’s ‘Transforming Towns’ programme, and from the Vale Council.

A Cowbridge Charter Trust spokesperson said: “The project will comprise some much-needed renovation to the space in front of the Old Hall along the High Street and will include new attractive planting and seating to allow for a more flexible use area, new surfacing and signage, restoration of Old Hall façade, removal of trees, shrubs and uneven paving and benches.”
A specialist tree survey has revealed that the existing four Rowan trees are not flourishing and need to bremoved. However, the Vale Council will be planting eight mature trees in the police field and there will also be a further three trees placed along the façade in raised planters.
The project follows on from the Town Wall restoration project – another joint effort between Cowbridge Charter Trust and the Vale Council.
The trust spokesperson said: “Cowbridge Charter Trust CIO is committed to local community improvement projects undertaken on a voluntary basis.
