THIS was always going to be a tough ask for the injury hit Pencoed squad against their near neighbours.
Following a scoreless opening quarter, the home side led 15-0 at the interval with tries from Chris Howe and Aaron Pinches, Jacob Lloyd adding a conversion and penalty goal.
The opening moments of the second half saw Ioan Pascoe increase the ‘Cyw’ lead, Lloyd converting. Further home tries came from Dan Phillips (2) Glen Williams, Lewis Gibbon, and Lloyd who added a further two conversions. Harri Pascoe got the Pencoed try. Harri was also Pencoed’s man of the match. The man of the match for Heol-y-Cyw was Arron Pinches.
The match was supporting the Seren DWT Down Syndrome Community Wales, with everyone wearing odd socks, and £628.31 was raised for the charity.
