Town very busy during return of Elvis Festival 2022

Town very busy during return of Elvis Festival 2022:

The Elvis Festival was back in Porthcawl again this year, and the town was very busy on Friday, Saturday and Sunday – 23-25th Sept.

The organisers were relieved that the festival enjoyed good weather because, apart from listening to various versions of Elvis’ music, there is nothing festival fans like more than dressing up and promenading around the town.

Local photographer Andy Wicks was out and about with his camera, while Glamorgan Star reporter Philip Irwin was able to concentrate on seeing the sights.

However, one thing that they both noted was that more and more groups of women are embracing the dressing up aspect of the festival – often in matching dresses. Someone, somewhere, is doing rather well out of those 1950s dresses!
