ONE definite plus in favour of Llantwit Major is that it is firmly in the rural Vale.
However, some residents woke up this week to find it even more in the countryside than normal. It wasn’t just one wandering cow, as this photo by Stu Davies shows only too clearly.
Stu said: “It’s not every day that you wake up to mooing noises coming from your front garden.
“Some of the herd seemed to find our recycling very interesting!”
Of course, in north Wales, Llandudno has made its wandering goats almost a tourism feature, ever since they came down into town from the Great Orme during the time of Covid.
Perhaps that is not so likely in Llantwit. Cows are a little less mobile than those nimble goats, so they would be more of a problem. They were, of course, collected and returned to their meadows within a few hours.
