A mum cat who had to have her eye removed due to melanoma is now healthy and ready to find a new home.
Five-year-old Fifi was taken in by Cats Protection’s Bridgend Adoption Centre after being found straying alone and heavily pregnant in the Pontypridd area.
While at the centre, she gave birth to five beautiful kittens and did a great job of raising them. Happily, they have now all been adopted so now it’s Fifi’s turn.
Fifi had an eye deformity when admitted into care and, after monitoring it for a few weeks, the vet decided to remove it. A biopsy confirmed that it had been due to a melanoma.
As it was not possible to track down her original owner, Fifi has now been neutered and the charity is looking to find her a forever family.
Adoption Centre manager Sue Dobbs said: “When she first came into the centre, Fifi was a shy little thing but now she is chilled and friendly and loves fuss and attention. She is just adorable. I’m sure she is going to make a wonderful addition to someone’s home.
“We’d like to say thank you to players of People’s Postcode Lottery, whose support helps us look after cats in need like Fifi during their stay with us. Their help has funded the care of around 52 cats at our centre over the past year, which is so very much appreciated.”
