A 45-YEAR-OLD man has been jailed for 32 weeks after he admitted carrying out violent attacks and shoplifting offences.
Michael Sparks, of no fixed abode, appeared at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court where he pleaded guilty to assault by beating an emergency worker and common assault.
The court heard that on 25th February in Cardiff, Sparks carried out attacks on a man and an NHS security guard.
Sparks also pleaded guilty to two offences of shoplifting. On 1st July last year, he stole cooked meats valued at £7.75 from the Co-Op supermarket on Colcot Road, Barry, and the following day, he took eight cans of Kronenbourg 1664 worth £11.78 from Home Bargains.
In addition to his prison sentence, Sparks has been ordered to pay £150 to the NHS security guard he attacked, along with £7.75 compensation to the Co-Op and £11.78 to Home Bargains.
