King Billy go top of League One after 10-goal thriller

AFC Rhoose extended their lead at the top of the Premier Division to four points with a 3-1 win over second placed Penarth Town. Kyle Booker, Zak Grinter and Liam Butcher scored the goals.

Cwm Talwg stayed third after a cracking 2-2 draw with Island Marine. Talwg were 2-0 up thanks to Jack Cutajar and Mitchell Thomas but an own goal and a Gabriel Oram penalty ensured Island Marine left with a share of the spoils.

Peterston Vale grabbed a point right at the death against Cadoxton Imps. John Wooten put Peterston in front but Panayotis Moraitis levelled for Imps before Taylor Turner put them into the lead. Owen Williams scored his seventh of the season in stoppage time to make it 2-2.

St Athan picked up their first league win of the season with a 3-0 away victory over Rhoose Social as goals from Dewi Cain and two from Lewis Parry ensured all three points.

Championship

Sparta Park edged out Llantwit Major Thirds in a classic 3-2. Sparta raced into a 2-0 lead before Llantwit roared back to 2-2. Nathan Donnelly’s penalty saw Sparta take all three points and draw level with Cardiff Airport Reserves at the top.

Sully Sports Development thumped Dinas Powys Reserves 4-0 to go third, with Ryan Shallis bagging a brace.

Island Marine Reserves moved to fourth with a 2-1 win over Porthkerry Panthers to continue their good start to the season, Rhys Sturgess hitting the winner.

Barry Athletic Reserves and AFC Rhoose Development ebbed and flowed with Rhoose twice levelling before Roan Harris scored the winner for Barry Athletic 10 minutes from time.

Aarron Prickett came off the bench to score twice to bring Vale Utd Reserves back from 2-0 down against St Athan Reserves to draw 2-2.

League One

Game of the day was at Barry RFC as King Billy handed FC Barry their first loss of the season. FC Barry raced into a 3-0 lead inside the first half hour but King Billy fought right back, scoring three of their own before half time to go in 3-3. King Billy then kept going and scored three more by the 70th minute before FC Barry pulled one back. Tommy Lee James was the star of the show with a hat trick, teeing up two more. The 6-4 win see King Billy go top.

Cardiff Airport Vets sit second with a 100% record and have played two games less than the leaders. They saw off Rhoose Social Reserves 6-1, Ed Jones getting two.

Cowbridge Town went fourth with an absolutely emphatic 13-0 win over St Athan Thirds, with hat tricks for Sam Russell, Joe Watts and Luke De Gabriele. Cowbridge have a perfect record but have only played three games.

Another team with the same record is Vale of Glamorgan Rovers as they thumped Island Marine Development 7-1, with Ben Venton grabbing a hat trick.

Tadross made it three wins in a row after losing their first three with a 3-0 win over Ely Rangers Reserves Wenvoe, Shaun Jachontow scoring twice.

Holton Road came back from 2-0 and 3-2 down against Cadoxton Imps Seconds to draw 3-3 thanks to a last gasp equaliser from Tyler Donnelly, making his Holton Road debut after just moving from Cadoxton Imps – you couldn’t write it!
