Man charged with Penarth & Cardiff burglaries
A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a series of burglaries in Cardiff and Penarth.
Karl Legg, 35, from Gabalfa, is due to appear at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court this morning charged with 14 burglaries and four attempt burglaries.
His arrest follows a three-week investigation by detectives into a spate of burglaries where entry has been gained through unlocked doors resulting in car keys and cars being stolen.
Detective Inspector Grant Wilson, who has been leading the investigation, said: “Being a victim of burglary is a traumatic experience and preventing and detecting such offences is a priority for South Wales Police.
“While this is a significant development in our investigation, it is important that we all continue to be vigilant and follow basic crime prevention advice.
“Please continue to make sure doors are locked and car keys are well hidden even when at home.”
Two other men have also been arrested as part of the investigation, Edgar Williams, 60, from Splott, has been charged with a burglary in Penarth where a VW Transporter was stolen, and Christopher Morgan, 37, from Taffs Well has been charged with three attempt burglaries in Cardiff.
