A 37-YEAR-OLD man from Barry with more than 100 offences on his criminal record has been handed a 16-week prison sentence after he admitted stealing goods worth more than £1,300 from a B&M store.
Lee Mears appeared before Cardiff Magistrates where he pleaded guilty to theft from the shop in Waterfront Retail Park on 6th December where he stole goods worth £1,336.17.
The court was told that Mears was the subject of a post-sentence supervision at the time of his offence.
In May 2025, Mears received a 46-week jail term after he admitted a series of shoplifting and burglary offences in the Barry area.
In January 2024, Mears was banned from driving for the 18th time after he led police on a 25-minute-long high-speed chase at night in Newport, where he hit speeds of 80mph in 40mph areas, took blind bends on the wrong side of the road and collided with another van.
