
A group set up to tackle male loneliness and depression is holding an open day this today, 18th June, 10.00am to 4.00pm.
Since its formation, the Squirrel’s Nest in Tondu has grown in numbers and has been a focal point for men in the area who feel the need to do something useful while maintaining social contact with others
It attracted the attention of the BBC and a documentary on the group was nominated for a BAFTA. Members do various types of wood-working and other activities, as well as having a chance to talk about this and that.
There will be a hog roast at the open day, as well as stalls, music, tea, coffee and cakes. The 12-minute BBC documentary ‘The Nest’ will be available to watch too.
