Open day at Barry’s Dovecote
THE Mayor of Barry, Cllr Dennis Clarke, and the Mayoress are inviting Barry residents to visit the Dovecote, which is the only Grade I listed building in Barry, on Sunday, 21st September.
Cllr Clarke said: “This is definitely one for the history fans, as there will be an opportunity to hear about the history of the site and some of its previous owners over some refreshments. There will be talks, including by the Victorian Barry Experience and there will be information about the Grade II listed rectory, which is also a part of this important location.
Tickets are £5 per person (plus booking fee) with all proceeds donated to the Mayor’s chosen charities: Mind in the Vale and Valeways. Tickets can be purchased from: www.ticketsource.co.uk/barrytowncouncil
Advanced booking is required for this event. Visits and talks will start on the hour at 11am, 12pm and 1pm. Please note that wheelchair access to the Dovecote may be difficult, due to the narrow entrance.
Mount Pleasant is accessed from the east end of Court Road, Cadoxton – the turning off the roundabout, just to the south of the Practice of Health, not the Court Road turning.
