Barry folk rush to help after Thailand tragedy as fundraising page passes £40,000 mark
PEOPLE in Barry have rushed to help a local family after a tragic accident in Thailand.
Corey Beavis died after a motorcycle accident and his devastated family announced that they would need to raise money to try and bring his body back to the UK, saying that he did not have travel or life insurance.

A fundraising page, launched with the aim of raising £35,000 to bring Corey home, amazingly passed the £40,000 mark in barely 48 hours.
Corey’s family wrote on the page: “Corey lit up any room he walked into, with his larger than life character and his infectious laugh. He had so much left to give this world, but also lived a life 10x beyond his wildest imagination. He was a real genuine person with nothing but love for the people around him.
“As a family we’ve suffered immeasurable loss, and now have to face the realities of repatriation and laying our beautiful boy to rest – having not had travel and life insurance policies in place, the significant costs surrounding this are unimaginable.”
Corey was a twin, and his brother Liam told reporters that he and Corey had spent every possible second of their 28 years together. He said he had lost a brother and a best friend.
The fundraising page can be visited online here.
