Cowbridge Travel says holidays are bouncing back

NEW figures from ABTA – The Travel Association – indicate that the demand for travel is back in line with pre-pandemic levels.

Sally Richards, manager of Cowbridge Travel, said: “Holidays are bouncing back with 62% of people having been on a foreign holiday since restrictions were lifted in March 2022.

“The survey also showed that a majority of people are still planning to go on holiday abroad in the next 12 months, with over a third having already booked a break.

“A ‘freedom factor’ is driving the return which perhaps explains why, despite the cost-of-living challenges, people are still keen to book a foreign trip.

“Holidays are the ‘non-essential’ item they plan to prioritise this year, with 54% saying they’ll cut back on other expenses, including clothes and hospitality, to ensure they can still go on holiday.

People are adapting their habits rather than scrapping holidays entirely, primarily by going all-inclusive, booking early, or holidaying outside busy periods. Identifying the best value for money is a key part of our job, says Sally.

Hopkins Law Solicitors – obtaining a financial order in divorce proceedings

DURING the current cost of living crisis, it is unsurprising that people choose to represent themselves in financial proceedings on divorce.

It is important to be aware of the risks if you are deciding whether to represent yourself in these proceedings.

A common misconception which leaves self-represented people at a financial disadvantage is that financial matters are concluded when a verbal or written agreement has been reached with an ex-partner. This is incorrect and it is essential to protect yourself by having the terms of any financial agreement drafted as a financial order to be approved by the court.

This is particularly important if you remarry or enter into a civil partnership in the future. Failing to do this could mean either that you face considerable difficulties or are precluded from obtaining a financial order from the court at a later stage, taking into account all the matrimonial assets. Obtaining a final financial order also protects your assets in the future.

If you are seeking guidance on these matters, Hopkins Law can offer supportive, professional advice during this period of economic uncertainty. Contact them on 01447 774151 or visit their website to find out more.
