Superstore’s fun day is a big hit
A Family Fun Day was held in Barry Asda’s carpark on Sunday, 27 July, to increase awareness of breast cancer and raise funds for charity.

Charlene Duddridge, Community Champion at Asda, said: “The community of Barry turned out in full force as Asda Barry partnered with the Rotary Club of Barry and District to host a joyful celebration of togetherness, packed with family-friendly activities.
“The Tenovus choir sang some delightful songs and many couldn’t help but join in for a sing-a-long.”

There was a bouncy castle, face painting and hair braids, and classic games like hook-a-duck, spin-to-win, and splat-the-rat. There was a visit from the local fire service, giving children the chance to explore a real fire truck.
At the end of the day, the fundraising efforts meant that an impressive £1,019.22 went to ‘Tickled Pink’, Asda’s breast cancer charity.

Store manager Gareth Jones said: “It was heartwarming to see so many families enjoying the day together. We’re incredibly proud to support Tickled Pink and with laughter echoing across the car park and plenty of smiles all around, I am grateful to our colleagues, volunteers, and the Barry community for making it such a success.”
